Okay, so I know that most mermaid "stories" are filled with the same clichés over, and over again. The girls have that long, shiny, sandy blonde and those perfect ocean blue eyes. And they always have those oceanic names, and it's marked as "fate." I have brown hair, and washed out blue/green eyes. I also have glasses that I need for seeing far distances. I don't sound like one of those clichés for the most part, right? I hope so. Okay, my name is Rowan Ire Price. I am supposed to be a normal teenager, who grew up in the little town of Memory, just southwest of Los Angeles. I have a solid ten minute walk in order to make it to the beach. I usually walk to the beach every Saturday and Sunday, or almost every single day during summer break. But before summer started, something happened. This isn't your typical mermaid story. But this is mine. I didn't transform, er, become a mermaid at the beach, it happened in the comfort of my own home. So here's MY story, and this is exactly what happened to me. All the way up to why am SO worried about tomorrow.

I've been banned from heaven and sent to a place worse than hell: High School. Ocean Beach was a small town on the coast of California and was never mentioned for anything. Until they were on TV for a mysterious pattern of dead animal parts, heavy hail in the middle of November, and other things. And it's my job to make sure that humans stay safe. But the thing is, will I even be able to help them?
