At the age of sixteen, and just months after her school prom, Donalin Leary finds herself being involved in a dangerous car accident which takes the life of her twin, Danny. Concerned about her daughter’s mental health, Donalin's mother takes her to a family friend who specialises in helping people with mental health issues and vows to get Donalin back on her feet, but instead takes advantage of the teen and abuses her both mentally and physically.

Feeling alone and depressed, Donalin turns to a life of self-destruction, believing that she has nothing more to live for. Until she meets Jace. A careless and reckless juvenile delinquent who makes getting Donalin back on her feet his number one priority. But when she refuses to let him help her, will Jace give up on Donalin, or will they both give into their inner feelings?
