Once their divorce was fnalized, Britt took the kids and never told Dave where they went. Not only are the Foo Fighters without a record label, they're also down two band members, and so far one half of 1998 is a blur from being drunk at flashy parties and concerts every night, and the other half is miserable from a daunting bout of writer's block threatening to end Dave's career.
