The Fall (Revised)

All Shelbey has ever known has been a world run by a religion forced upon her. The entire gated Society orbits around the religion and it seems no one questions it except her. It's completely sketchy how at the age of 16 you go and "Fall" and how that determines your entire future. The entire community is run by this one motto, "To succeed we must fly, to fly we must Fall."( It is terrifying how harsh everyone is in the community.)

All Shelbey knows is that you must follow every rule or else you'll be put up for trial. A trial doesn't sound bad, right? Wrong. The trial will determine your punishment, the punishment could go anywhere from helping the community's caretakers to being thrown out of the community to die. Almost everyone feared the Trial and if you didn't fear the Trial there is a chance you'd be the one to die because of it.

For Shelbey her fears were amplified when she watched her brother get thrown out into the community to die and her sister get her tongue taken out to live as a mute. Now 5 years later is was her turn to Fall.

And it doesn't end up pretty.
