"I'm going to spend the weekend at my mom's." I looked Kaleb in the eyes as I spoke, which was hard because I was lying. I was really going to spend the weekend with Chase at his mom's cabin in Lula.
"Why?" He looks at me with big crystal blue eyes, pleading me not to go.
"Because there's nothing to eat here and you and I keep fighting, I need a break." Well that wasn't a total lie. There really wasn't anything to eat and we were fighting.
"What about us? We're supposed to go hungry?" He sounds a little mad now.
"Not my problem." I throw back at him. It wasn't my fault I'd gotten extremely sick at my last job and had to quit but it didn't mean I had to go through with the offer me and Marie had auditioned for that day.
"Fine."
I walk out of our room with my bag and he slams the door behind me.
