There is a supernatural world hidden from human eyes. Its always been there, and the number one rule has always been to keep it a secret. Things have never been very stable between the races, the vampires and werewolves hate each other, the witches look down on everyone, and don't even start about the half demons. But despite everything, they have kept their world secret for millenia. But now someone has decided that the human world should know about their powerful neighbours.
Elizabeth is being dragged into this supernatural world she never knew existed, and although she doesn't like what it shows her, there's no going back anymore. She meets Matthew, who has a wall up between the rest of the world and him and carries a secret close to his heart. Elizabeth doesn't know what to do with him, he's a nice person but there are so many questions unanswered about him that even she questions the wisdom of being around him. In this new world of unnatural creatures Elizabeth finds herself in, trusting the wrong person could mean death, or worse. Then there's James, shy, scared, and just trying to put one foot in front of the other to cope with things from his fresh past as well is his craving for blood.
All these people are at the centre of a whirlwind of shift and change amongst the supernatural world. Pressure is mounting and if they can't handle it well, it's only a matter of time before the bubble breaks. And in the middle of all of this, love might be able to shine some light on things. If they live long enough that is.

I am just about to turn around and head down the alley toward the street when I see two shadows step away from the wall a little farther down from where I am standing.
