Beauty is a very scary, deadly thing. But what is beauty when beauty is despised?
The Race takes place at the height of spring, every year and has for the past 120 years. Ten girls are chosen to compete for their beauty and skill. They are thrown into an arena (cruelly dubbed the stage) to fight for Perfection. To clean the world of those who are less than perfect. To fight to the death. To be the last one standing.
And one must pay dearly to be perfect.

Not when his parents, especially his mother was secretly wishing for Evonne's downfall. Evonne Smith grew up in a crazy household and that gave her mental problems. Wiithin this household held lots of secrets and she just couldn't take it anymore. Her mom was a druggie and an abuser. And that meant trouble. When her mother disappeared from the family life, her father met a woman and moved to Chicago. This was not something Evonne was waiting for. She definitely didn't like changes. Not when the step mom was kind of mean to her. When she met Caleb, her life changed into something she never thought would ever happen to her. Someone genuinely loved her, and it was a boy and she couldn't let this go by. But when hidden secrets get revealed only they can change them. Told in both POV.
In the Mansions
My friends and I role play a lot in this website called chatzy.com. We have this whole world mapped out based on the Hunger Games. We live in two mansions. One is the main mansion, where we all used to live until it got really crowded, and then the second mansion belongs to Gracie. Her mansion is by a waterfall, just a ten minute walk away. Most of us have super powers. I mean, if the Capitol can make mutts, surely we can give ourselves super powers. Gracie has black wings, Talia has super speed, Chris has super strength, Derrick can make himself invisible. Nina can make herself invisible and make force fields too. We all have issues here. Sierra doesn't talk. Chris is a germaphobe. Chase cuts himself. We all have reasons for running away from the districts and the Capitol, but we've all found sanctuary here. I don't say anything, perhaps, I didn't know what I was supposed to say. I've never had a man be so blunt about my attractiveness. What were I to say? That I wanted him to continue on with his sweet words? That I wanted him to- "Is that enough clarification, princess?" Rio cuts off my train of thoughts from becoming any more improper than they already were. If my trainer were to be able to hear inside of my mind, she would have had a heart attack.

Idol (Selection Project rewrite/inspired story)
If you've watched the anime Selection Project, then this is a darker (edgier) rewrite of that with some similar characters and also some original characters. If you haven't, then the story is about a group of 9 girls that come together to compete in an idol reality TV show over several rounds, and the winner will get to become a real idol. In the original story, the characters are threatened with elimination, but it never really happens and they all get to win together. However, in this version of the story, elimination cannot be avoided, and the girls all have their own emotional hang-ups that bring them into conflict with one another as they compete to make their dreams come true. This is the first story I ever wrote and completed, so it might be pretty rough around the edges, but I thought I might as well throw it out there.
