After attempting suicide, Charlotte Evans is sent to Pandora Academy for Afflicted Children. In this academy, every student has some sort of strange power. The Parrish twins, Nathan and Scarlett light things on fire with their minds when they're angry, Lucy Madden can control water (like some Percy Jackson stuff), and so on and so forth. Sometimes, you can physically tell that they're different, like Charlotte's naturally pastel blue hair and deep purple eyes (iris and pupil) and Lucy's blue-tinted skin tone. Here, Charlotte meets Carter Dawson who soon becomes a love interest with some secrets of his own, and Isaac Taylor, who's ready to take over the world with any afflicted kids who want to join him. It's up to Charlotte and her friends to bring him down from his self-made throne and keep the world as it was.

It didn't take long for Henry's boss to find out about their little pact, though. With a lot of threats about erasing her memories, she finally came to an agreement that she would work at Junk N' Stuff while also being the social media coordinator for the superheroes. The best surprise about working at Junk N' Stuff was being able to go on missions. As soon as she started working there, rumors started spreading that a new villain was in town, one that no one had ever heard of before. A therapist was breaking up couples, and Henry and Laurel, who had grown almost inseparable since she started working there, wanted to get to the bottom of it. Laurel was slowly finding a purpose for her life, and she actually found friends that made everything brighter. Things never go exactly as planned. Just as quickly as Laurel's life changed for the better, things exploded. They say that it is easy to follow your heart, but Laurel knew better than that. Hearts lied. People lied.
