Life at home for Naldo Montoya was never easy.
His parents were unhappily married, and they fought all the time, sometimes in front of Naldo. As much as it pained him to see this unfold, he had no say in any of it.
Whenever Naldo was with his friends, Barry, Cyd, and Shelby, he would try to stay as positive as he could. It wasn't too hard, but it wasn't exactly easy, either. He couldn't help but feel like he was living a lie. After all, they didn't know the truth - but not that he wanted them to know.
To avoid raising any concern, Naldo just smiled through the pain. But the fact that he was going through this, and that he couldn't even tell anyone about it, was eating him up inside.
His parents just barely managed to stay together, even through all of the constant fights, just for Naldo's sake. But when things take a turn for the worst, he finds out something about his parents that changes his life forever.
