'Go!' They all yelled in unison.
I opened the doors to the cabinet and turned back. A loud boom in the distance made us all flinch, but when we straightened, my eyes locked on his. He padded towards me, his dark eyes gripping my soul. The lump in my throat clung to my voice, silencing me as he finally grabbed my face with his large hands, and encased my lips in a passionate kiss. Another explosion nearby caused me to pull back, inspecting his gruff features.
'I - I can't,' I whispered to him, his hands still clasping my cheeks.
A window suddenly smashed, the awkward silence being filled with anger and urgency.
'Yes. You can,' was all he said with a weak smile, as he slipped away, standing with the others.
Slowly, I wiped away a single tear that had escaped my eye as I climbed into the cabinet. The edging chaos was undoubtedly close, told by the nervous expressions etched onto everyone's faces.
With the strongest smile I could muster, I shut the doors, unknowingly, to everything I understood and loved, for the last time.

J.K Rowling owns all Harry Potter characters, I only own Maya and my other characters.
This will be a twist on the Marauder era and may be Harry-Potter-thically incorrect.
