Corset in Congress (A Hamilton Genderbend)
A Hamilton AU where everything is the same except Alexander is a woman and she marries Elijah Schuyler. For the most part it is told from Aaron Burr's perspective, but that might change for certain chapters. I made this simply out of curiosity, and because I watched too many animatics, plus I thought it would be interesting to see how the story would play out with a female protagonist. The character interactions, lyrics, and overall plot could be impacted in many ways, and I'd like to see how that goes. I'm basically converting lyrics into text, tweaking them based on the needs of the context. Feel free to comment on anything you like, any little mistakes that need fixing. "I hate you, Lafayette." "I hate you more, (Y/N). Trust me." *** After America won the war, Lafayette realized he had nowhere to go. With the little amount of money in his pockets, he couldn't sail to France and buy a house there. Or anywhere. He hated his parents for making him live on his own after the war was over. Lafayette began to turn to close friends and asked them if he could live with them until be had enough money to buy a house of his own. They all refused. Finally, as a last resort, he turned to his ex-commander, George Washington, and his daughter (if you're a dude, you can change this), (Y/N). The Washingtons and Marquis de Lafayettes were close, so Lafayette knew Washington would say yes. Well, most of the Washingtons and Marquis de Lafayettes were close. Lafayette and (Y/N), however, weren't. Ever since they met (which was when they were, like, six, on a vacation to France the Washingtons were on), they seemed to be fighting all the time. They couldn't stand each other. Both of them began to dread the frequent visits of the two families. So you can imagine (Y/N)'s devastation when her dad agreed to let Lafayette stay for as long as he needed. What would happen? 1789: Thomas Jefferson returns from France and meets Alexander Hamilton for the first time. It's hatred at first sight, but it will eventually change into something none of them would ever have imagined. Set in the 18th century, the two political enemies will have to overcome their own fears and to hide their love, while trying to build their new nation. (Jamilton / past Lams) ***And then it happened. Jefferson looked away from Burr for just a second and fixed his eyes on Alexander's. Alex's heart stopped and he felt his blood running cold into his veins - what should he do? Should he nonchalantly walk out of that damned alley, or run away, or what? He was trying to think fast, but in the end he just stayed there, frozen on his spot by Jefferson's smug stare. For what it seemed to be a lifetime, Thomas's brown eyes held his gaze, tying Alexander's blue, wide eyes to his, reading his very soul like an open book. Then, he winked and turned to Burr again, acting as if nothing had happened. Alex abruptly retreated into the deep shadows of the alley, breathing hard and sweating as if he'd just had an epiphany.
