Set a year after the events of Resist. I am the Commander of XCOM, the protectors of Earth. In 2015, we failed to prevent the alien invaders from taking over. For 20 years they have lied to the people while XCOM lay dormant, gathering intel. Central Officer John Bradford rescued me and together we took our home back from the invaders. Now he is missing. It didn't take us long to realise that the forces on Earth was merely a taste of what the invaders were capable of. There is a greater force out there and we have very little time. For now, XCOM's resources are focused on uniting the world in a future fight and disposing of the invader's forces who still reside. AN: I do not own the XCOM franchise nor do I claim to

The abduction of the Commander was nothing short of a death blow to any chance that Humanity could repel ADVENT from Earth. It was like the flame that kept the Human Resistance ablaze had been snuffed out. John Bradford took the failure of XCOM and the cause for what came to be called Unification Day completely on his shoulders, promising that if he ever again found her, that he would never allow any harm to come to the Commander. After he rescues her from a sarcophagus, the man who waited two decades for his mentor is now faced with an impossible chance-and forces the Commander to question if she is willing to risk the fragile future of the Initiative for a gamble at a happiness she never believed to be possible. Hey, since you read this far can you like and comment on what you read? Favorite if you like it, I would appreciate it, but I want to hear what people think of this, because I'm trying a lot of new things, even if it is "just" a fan fic (I don't believe that writing is "just" anything, you can tell based on how much work I put into this). Again, thank you, it means a lot to me, we're going to be doing this for a while. So... hi? Hello.
