For as long as Rainaurana Lilith Abired could remember, she knew she was different. Both of her parents did magic all the time. Then, when she turned eleven, she got a letter from a school called Hogwarts: the school her older sister Jessamyn attends. That day, Raine's life changed forever.
She heads to Hogwarts, and when Raine is sorted into Gryffindor and Jess is in Slytherin, the two girls are finally free of each other. But they both make friends... albeit some more obnoxious than others. Raine finds lasting friends in the people she thinks are the most obnoxious. As she grows, she learns more about her friends and they face challenge after challenge... side by side with each other. In fourth year, Raine is invited to join the ranks of the Marauders, and she gladly accepts.
Through her years at Hogwarts, Raine experiences friendship, love, loss... and grows and changes as a person. She knows what it's like to be different. And she embraces it.
