Macy Checkers is sixteen and ready for boyfriends and late night drives. But not every love story ends in happily ever after, and Macy's, so far, never have. History teachers have always taught her that the Declaration of Independence was really one big breakup letter. The Colonial people basically told England that it had been a good couple of years, that England was being a jerk, and listed all of the problems they had with their current government. So when Macy breaks up with the first boy, she starts something that could possibly never end. Macy writes breakup letters. At first, it's a necessary and reasonable endeavor but soon she's writing a letter to her desk chair, breaking it off because she stubbed her toe on its leg. In the course of these letters, Macy will break up with several boys, a desk lamp, scrambled eggs, her toothbrush, the neighbor's parrot, and one very quirky Alice. Will Macy's letters go on forever, or will the last letter she writes be to that special someone, the one who will always be there. All Rights Reserved
