Mari Kent can see something no one else can. She can see the Ties; the red strings around our ring fingers which bond us to our soulmates. Mari is the only person in Somerset without a Tie, though, and she can't understand why; even the dead have Ties. She's afraid she's the only one, all alone, until someone new comes to town...
