After her mother died, Dakota Summers didn't think her life could any worse. She was living with her abusive step-father Valentino, a Gang Lord. She can't eat for days on end, and her room was a closet with a poorly patched up hole; so the New York winter would seep into her bones.
When the Infamous Tony Stark, Comes to her Physics class one day, and gives a lecture on Particle Physics. She's more than intrigued, since she's taking this class for the third time. Since her school wasn't advanced enough for her, and Valentino wouldn't pay for anything nicer. Tony, takes notice of her, and offers to mentor her. She refuses, but Tony still pushes on her.
While on the other hand, she happened to meet Steve Rogers on the same day. Though, she only grew to know him as Steve. He saw her slipping an apple in her pocket at a small grocery store. Then went outside, seeing her in the ally trying to eat it as slowly as she could. He offered her some food. She was hesitant, but eventually accepted it. Then, it became a routine. Every day after school, he would meet her in the ally with a sandwich and a piece of fruit. Until one day when he was late, it happened to be the day Valentino followed her there, beat her, then left her there to die. Steve rushed her back to the tower, and Bruce was able to help her with the cellular re-generator. Tony happened to be a blood match and she was healed (mostly) by that night.
Steve insists that she comes to live in with him, and she refuses. She doesn't think she needs help. For, she is afraid of what they will think of her, and her broken past. When her step- father sexually abuses her that night, she decided enough is enough. She packs up what little she has, and moves in to the tower.
She moves to a better life, with ghosts of the pasts and struggles of the future. Between making it to all her classes, and helping her new family save the world. Will she be able to save herself? Or will she have some help along the way?

Taking her back to the tower, they try to help her, only to find that she has no memory of them, and now holding her own power. Thor wants nothing more than to destroy every single person who had hurt her, his need to protect her burning within him.
