"Wake up and smell the damn coffee! It's all just desert and misery and emptiness, so stop pretending that it isn't! There is nothing out there!" I screamed.

Tears welled in my eyes. Where was this dark and bleak place I had resolved to? Where was I?

"I think you and I both know, that if you truly believed that, you wouldn't be here." He countered.

The tears in my eyes flowed freely now.

Because, despite myself, I knew he was right.

I had done something horrible.
