Cassidy lives like most other under 21s - she follows the law. She knows that if she doesn't, she risks being taken away. Rebellious behaviour cannot be tolerated under any circumstances, especially with her parents watching her every move.

The rules have been in place for a long time - the Democrats have beaten the Republicans in the New Elections for the past 60 years, with their names being the only recognisable aspects of their parties when comparing to the past. Anyone that chooses not to follow the rules can drop out and become what's known as an Outcast, but then you risk being imprisoned.

While America seems to be running perfectly under these laws, a rebellion is stirring among the professionals. With secrets and lies in government and families alike to change the future of America forever, Cassidy finds herself caught up in the middle of the all out war that is about to break out. What she thought she knew about her world is about to change forever, bringing everyone she knows down with her.

DISCLAIMER 2016/2017: This book is a few years old at this point, and due to the political uproar in American in 2016 I feel the need to make this abundantly clear. Outcasts takes place in a dystopian world in an undetermined year in the future, and the political parties depicted in this story - the Republicans and the Democrats - are in no way, shape or form a commentary on their real-life counterparts. I had very little knowledge of American politics when I wrote this story, and if I could go back and change their names I would. Throughout the story you will read of absurd flaws in both party agendas, and in no way did I ever intend to shame or defame the real life Republican and Democratic parties of America. See them as purely fictitious - that's what they are, after all.

Things become even more complicated for Alice and Derek when their paths cross, Derek knows who she is, but Alice can't even remember her own self enough to remember him. *********************** "You're the city kid who's parents kicked the buck- fuck. I mean shit. I mean hi." He stammers. The entire family stares at Jack in pure horror. I burst into laugher, still to their horror. "Good one." I chuckle. Jack raises his sharp eyebrows. "You're fucked up, City Boy." He says. "Kieran." I say. "Bless you." He responds quickly. "No that's my name. Kieran." I elaborate. "Like the coffee maker?" He asks. "What? No, not Kierig, Kieran." I repeat. "Key ring." Jack says. I sigh. "I'm bein' serious as all outdoors, I can't say it." Jack says. "Maybe because you talk like a weed whacker." I say. Jack looks taken back by my comment. "You're funny. I like you...Kerin?" Jack says. "Keep trying." I say. "Jack, why don't you help Kieran settle into his room?" Roger suggests putting so much emphasis on my name, I almost forget how to say it. "You mean my room? Sure thing, Father." Jack huffs. Wait... I have to share a room with that thing? He looks like he bites. "Don't worry, Kieran. He don't bite." Roger assures me. Did I say that aloud or has Jack bitten in the past? **************************** Kieran's life is in shambles. Two war veterans. One broken system. And a fake relationship the whole country is about to fall for. Senator Y/N has never believed in heroes. Not even the ones with vibranium arms and tragic pasts. So when Bucky Barnes is sworn in as the new Congressman from New York, she doesn't expect much more than chaos in committee meetings and awkward hallway encounters. What she doesn't expect is finding common ground. Or laughing at his dry humor. Or ending up in his bed after a late-night vote. They agree it means nothing. Just tension relief between two exhausted, overworked public servants. Until a key legislative bill they've been building together starts facing public opposition-and their communications teams come up with a brilliant (read: reckless) idea to save it. "America loves a love story," they say. "Especially one between two broken soldiers trying to make things right." So now they're fake dating. Doing interviews, holding hands in public, making it look real. The problem? It's already starting to feel that way. And the more they fake it, the more they realize that nothing between them has ever been fake. Authors note: This story takes place in the MCU timeline, right after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier-but with a twist: Bucky Barnes is now a Congressman. From here, the story breaks canon and follows a new path. I'm mixing tropes I love: Coworkers to Lovers, Fake Relationship, and Friends with Benefits. There will be politics, tension, intimacy, and emotional slow burn. Also, English is not my first language, so thanks for your patience! Hope you enjoy Capitol Heat.

"This book would be good for those that enjoyed the Hunger Games!” ~ Cover 2 Cover Blog "When I read the first page, I did not anticipate that I would be finishing the book that night, but I did. I had to. I didn’t care that I was up until 3:00AM." ~ It's Jeanette "I loved the Hunger Games Trilogy. I am happy to say that I have found another YA book trilogy with some similarities, that is just as exciting, yet with a completely different story!" ~ Connect with your Teens through Pop Culture and Technology ***** Ima is just a teenage girl trying to make it in The Dome, an encapsulated, 5-mile radius of downtown Chicago that remains after natural disaster has overtaken most of the earth. When she meets a hooded figure named Vaughn at a party, he takes her on a whirlwind escape that jolts her from her current reality into Silicon City, where humans are upgraded, currency is clout, and bionic eyes are the only way to get information among the glass and metal spiraling buildings that dot the skyline. Oh, and the year is 2198, not 2052 like she thought it was. But this new city comes with dangers of its own, from degenerates to replications, from hostile hashes to a dictator who seems determined to control the population. To top it all off, Ima has to find some way to get back to The Dome to save her best friend Dash before the powers of Silicon City find a way to destroy it. Something sinister is brewing in Silicon City, and Ima is determined to figure out how to stop it. Along the way, she will have to give up parts of herself to save the ones she loves. Can she survive the future long enough to fix the past?

Sneaking into a campus party shouldn't lead to expulsion, should it? *** Colleges across the U.S. have been on alert because of rioters who all but rendered the American Ivy League universities extinct, after the end of the COVID pandemic in twenty-twenty-five. After their destruction, smaller subsidiaries of those Ivy Leagues have been thriving, thanks to donations and government grants. In twenty-twenty-nine, Junior student Kera Mitchell learns the hard way that it's actually a minor crime to crash a party on campus--it's an invasion of private property. At her university, Valence, there are still severe punishments in place for disrespect to any structures on site. Kera finds out that though she won't be expelled for her party-crashing, she did break a serious rule, and she'll have to pay for it. Along with the party-throwers, hot golden boy Miles, and drug-dealing douche Vick, she's given a punishment none of them expected: they're sent to an unknown, tropical island to learn how to control their erratic behaviors. Like a brainwashing vacation against violence, sex, drugs, and alcohol. Except Kera shouldn't be there--she's as docile as they come, and has never been rowdy and rebellious in her life. Wrong place, wrong time? The island has many secrets, some of which Kera and Miles will stumble upon inadvertently, and that will change the course of the rest of their lives. Will they leave the island unscathed? Will they leave it... at all? ----------- A post-pandemic, post-apocalyptic, paranormal horror novel. Please mind your triggers (gore, language, trauma, violence) Inspired by a dream I had and that I became obsessed with turning into a book.
