The Runaway

A frightening scream echoes from the dark gloomy forest. I realize, right away, that it was my parents. Caleb jumps up from his seat and tells me to stay put. Then he takes off, shifting into his grey wolf, disappearing into the shadowy woods. I sit alone for a minute, my hands were starting to tremble, and my heart was pounding in my chest. Another minute goes by and I find myself sprinting into the mysterious forest. The woodshed comes into sight, and I burst into the cracked door. My heart rises in my throat and I freeze in the doorway. Laying, dead, on the floor is three wolves.

Her name is Amber Hunt. She lived with her parents and older brother until one fateful day. A witch killed her family and kept her as her own maid.
