Star Butterfly, the princess of Mewni has been sent to earth by her mother and father after being attacked by the monsters. They are after Star and her powers beyond the wand that she must learn to control. While being sent to earth she meets a boy her age named Marco. Despite Marcos feelings of hate and anger towards everyone Marco learns to "like" Star.
