Odelia and Keanu are both from very religious families, and have never knew that being a different sexuality was okay. What happens when they start falling for each other? And how will they convince their families to let them be the way they are?

-SNIPPET-

"What are we going to do?" Odelia sighed into Keanu's embrace.

"I don't know, but I do know I love you." Keanu admitted.

"I love you too." Odelia said back and the two kissed, melting into each other's arms.

The fate of the two lovers at that point wasn't known, but they would do anything to be together, even if it involves leaving their families behind.

Love can feel empowering. Love can be deadly. It can be the greatest thing to ever happen. It can be the biggest mistake that can't be reversed. It can feel like a dream come true. It can feel like a nightmare that you can't wake up from. Love changes people in many ways, from mild to severe, whether it's beneficial or detrimental in anybody's life, no matter if you're lesbian, gay, straight, bisexual, pansexual, or a person who just loves people without a label. How does love change you? ******* It's like your basic high school love story, except it's with adults in their early-mid 20s, and they're either still in college or have graduated from college and have jobs. It's a modern slice of life narrative novel about lesbians trying to find true love or wanting to get back into the love game. Five of these lovely characters share their own little tales of how love changes them first go, or their first time in forever! Their perspectives on love as it takes effect either get sensual, dramatic, or to the extent of a slow burn, as they also deal with life's obstacles along the way and share a part in each other's stories. There are ups and downs as their own stories go along, and it all gets more suspenseful towards the end where problems unfortunately arise. Will things get better or worse from here for these lovestruck lesbians as the story goes on? [Content/Trigger Warnings- the main warnings are scenes of sexual activity, and suicidal talk/attempt, along with mentions of said attempt. Everything else is listed inside the book! Please read the list before reading the book!] [Word count: +140,000 words...I write a lot, but enjoy anyway!]

"Wanted to be bold." I blush while I avoid eye contact. "Devin needed to borrow clothes for gym." I stare at my bare legs. "I should've told her no." He shrugs, biting into his sub. "Not a fan of exposing the body." I nibble on my burrito. "I just don't want anyone to get the wrong idea." I tuck my hair behind my ear. "That you're easy." My face reddens as I look at him in the corner of my eyes. After a few moments, I nod. He sighs. "The only thing that makes a girl easy is if she lets every and any guy inside." He runs his fingers through his hair. "Clothes or attitude has nothing to do with it." I trace a circle on my thigh. "And a guy that believes otherwise is either a dick or a rapist." I smile. "Avery." "Ava." "Your brain works in wonderful ways." I get more comfortable and lean on his shoulder. "So you've said." I giggle. "I'm glad to share the same name as you." ~ A girl, a perfectionist, named Avery Jones has been in love with her childhood friend's brother for as long as she can remember. He's never noticed her, though, he doesn't really notice anyone. He's sort of an insouciant philanderer. They couldn't be any different, the only thing that connects them is their names. Oh, by the way, his name is also Avery Jones; no relation. As crazy as it might sound, it's true. Anyway, it isn't until she becomes his mentor that he finally sees her. But will this new circumstance spark a connection or show just how different they are?

(Book 1 of 7) *complete* I fell for Alberta Anderson when I was a teenager, she was my childhood best friend. It was a slow and steep descent into an all-encompassing love. To be Allies favourite person in the world, and yet to yearn for more...to dare to yearn for more. It was torturous, and before I would ever get to confess it, another came along who dared to be braver than me and fell in love with her and all that she was too, my older brother Ben. Ben was sensible enough to propose and claim her for eternity with a band of gold and a seal in our temple, all at the tender age of eighteen. Our church, you know that infamous one in Utah? Yeah that one. Their wedding day would mark the day I left Utah, the church and my family, the month I announced I was gay and was sent away... there was no room for gay here...and in turn no room for me. Allie wouldn't understand, my absence, or my silence...and five years would pass...painfully for us both. Allie had a child, I went to college, feelings got left buried, but thoughts were daily, and she never left my mind...not for a day, and what I didn't know was that she was in that same place...lost and waiting for me to return. And I would return... one christmas five years later... and with me every feeling and emotion resurrected. Our teens were only the beginning because the journey to Alberta was about to span through our twenties and into our thirties. A journey home. *** Willa Jameson. When I hear that name in church one Sunday afternoon, it is five years later, five years I've not seen her but the name stirs a pain inside of me still. My life starts and ends with Willa Jameson and she has no idea. Mature content marked in chapters with a * *Completed March 2022. [Contest Entry - unedited, complete] She was supposed to fall in love. He was supposed to be the adoring match. It was supposed to end well. But not everything always goes according to plan. »---« Archie lives in a world where, at the age of sixteen, girls are matched with boys they are believed to be compatible with for life. This is believed to create stability and love for them both, resulting in a happier society. But what happens when the two puzzle pieces don't fit? What about when Archie's heart has been stolen by another, someone she could never hope to be with? This story explores the 'soulmate match' utopia cliché from the perspective of someone who could only ever see it as a dystopia. »---« **ROUGH DRAFT, UNDERGOING REWRITING** CW / homophobia, death, guns, blood Huge thanks to @love_at_first for the stunning cover!
