It was a fact only a select few knew, though, because he was put in charge of protecting Sasuke Uchiha- his best friend, and Naruto Uzumaki, so he was enrolled into their class at ninja school and grew with them, even though he was three years older than them.
  
  He grew close with the soul inside him, became his friend, felt something... Different, with him. They worked for a way to return the soul to his own body.
