"Too pretty to fight," they say, "you don't want to mess up that face." Dakota Sawyer never took an interest in boxing. She only thought of it as a sport for angry men. But then her parents decide to sign up for a boxing class, forcing Dakota and her brother to tag along. And it was that moment that she realised that boxing was more than beating people up and killing each other, it was a sport. Dakota tells her friends that she now does boxing, but they aren't supportive of the choice she made. She is doubtful at first but as life gets tougher she learns to put on her boxing gloves and face the challenges of life.
