Lance had a simple life. Wake up, go work at the little coffee shop that he loved, hang out with his family or friends, and then go home to his small apartment. Maybe party if he was feeling it.
Keith's life was not so simple. Wake up, go to his favorite little coffee shop, watch his back, try not to get killed, visit his grandmother that isn't going to live for long, make sure he stays low so that his stepfather and his "friends"-more like goons- don't kill him. Maybe wallow in his own loneliness if he was feeling it.
Eventually Lance will notice this boy. He will see his sleep deprived eyes and he will see his tangled hair. He will realize that this boy needs help.
Mentally and Physically.
Eventually Keith will notice this boy. He will see his warm smile and he will see his happy strut. He will realize that he envies this boy.
Mentally and Physically.
One may have a difficult time tolerating the other. But they both know they have this ability to grow on each other.

Sometimes people are a lot different then you think. The first minute Lance steps into his new school he's warned about Keith Kogane. They say he's like the devil, the meanest guy you will ever meet. You better stay away from him otherwise you could get on his bad side, and then your life is over. Lance isn't the guy to judge people just because people talk about that person. But they seem to be right, as a moment later Keith throws a freshman on the ground for speaking to him. That is a sign for Lance to never even look at this guy. He is super smart and has a problem with getting bullied and beaten up especially by a named Lotor and his group of friends. He has anger issues but can't even use them to protect himself. Lance is a school jock/ class clown everyone in school loves the kid but Lance isn't always the happy kid everyone knows! He is scared people might figure out he is bi and think he is a monster. He never wants to be mean to anyone and his parents spoil him since they are rich but the down part is that there never home and he has to constantly take care of them with his older sister. Keith was fine. Lance didn't believe it. C'mon, Keith looked liked he never got any sleep. And he looked liked never ate. Now that Lance thought of it, he hadn't seen him eat in a while. "I'm fine." Although, to his satisfaction, he swallowed any stupid comments or sounds. Except one- "You look like a chipmunk." Lance laughed, ruffling Keith's hair before disappearing out of the door and into the hallway. "Hey!" He shouted, tripping over his own feet as he scrambled upwards. The door clicked shut softly. From either side of the door, each boy had a moment of clarity, a soft smile adorned their face. Maybe this situation isn't that horrible. And, Lance was hungry. That too. - in which keith has been exposed to a mysterious gas, forcing his galra traits to bubble to the surface. and with this comes the troubles of accepting the other half of him, even after the galra captured his people. all the while lance has to deal with the fact that keith was brought here by red, the extension of his own quintessence. he's still struggling to grasp his own life.. what does it all mean anymore? After a training session gone wrong, Lance is injected with a poison which threatens to take away his memory after a week.
