We've always been told to think before we speak, so as not to offend anyone. Maddie Hayes is over it. No matter what is said, someone is going to get offended. She just doesn't care anymore. For someone who grew up with five older siblings, Maddie has never felt more alone. Now that they're all out of the house and starting their own families, that loneliness has manifested into anger at the feeling of being abandoned. Madeline was never supposed to be the 'good girl'. From the years of sarcasm, she's learned from watching her older siblings, Maddie is 'that girl,' the girl that everyone envies, who can make you cry with just a look. Maddie was a orphan, she had a foster home that was alright enough to let her go to school. She definitely had a back story, her mother died of cancer, it left her dad depressed, he killed himself, and it was just her. Her mom told her before she was diagnosed that her dad wasn't really her dad, she had another. That made her believe that one day, he might just find her and love her just like her mother, but that's very unlikely. Unlike most cliché orphan stories, she wasn't abused, bullied, etc. She spent her day listening to music and daydreaming the impossible. Her perfect sister, Megan, always manages to outshine her. Her father never pays attention to her, because he's always worried about Megan.
