Arcane Ophidian has tainted his essence, his spark of life. Condemned by the society that rules that his death will only fuel corruption and suffering with an iron fist, he is driven to find a way to change his past wrongdoings, even if means allowing himself to be clung to by stone fists and blood.

Alaeth Oren has been deemed unfit for anything she's ever tried her hand at by the disapproving stares of her parents, regardless of what her numerous awards and achievements portray.  The healing wounds she carries with her push her to go against everything she has been told to believe. Unsure of what her future may hold she clings to the only person remotely able to help her. 

An unfortunate alliance laced with bitter happiness, these two must come to understand what it is to be alive and what it will mean to be dead.
