Kicked back into the Dream Void, Shane, Shyanne, and Kayla start working to raise an army against the Nightmare, who now has their friend Phoenix held captive. Shane goes off with Jake and Kayla to convince the animal spirits and nature spirits to help them, while Shyanne moves to Wonderland to save its inhabitants from the Red Queen - she finds a broken Phoenix on her travels.
Still, an army must be raised, and the Nightmare must be stopped.
Convinced Phoenix is back, Shyanne can relax - she could if it weren't for Phoenix's annoying boyfriend, Adrien.
Jake knows something's wrong.
