Mandy Halder had everything figured out: a job (that she hated), a promising career path (can you call academia promising?), and a boyfriend (who "just wants different things" now, apparently). So maybe she never had everything figured out, but she did have stability and a steady income, and what more could a twenty-something ask for?

After Mandy is unceremoniously fired and left without funding to continue her graduate program, she's left without a plan--possibly for the first time ever. And after her live-in boyfriend makes it clear that he now expects them to move back to his hometown, Mandy realizes that the only place she can go is home. Soon, Mandy finds herself participating in a city-wide scavenger hunt for a hidden rock, surprising herself as she finds more ghosts, old flames, and memories than she ever could have expected--or hoped for.

Set against the wild natural beauty of the Las Vegas desert, Rock Bottom reminds us that sometimes not knowing is the best thing to rejoice in, and that sometimes going back is the only way forward.

Sophie Bennett has never been lucky in love. After a series of broken relationships where lies and betrayal always seem to find their way to the surface, she's closed off her heart, convinced that true love is just a fantasy. That is, until one fateful night at The Hideaway, a bar tucked away from the chaos of Vanderbilt City. When Sophie meets Caleb Turner, she's drawn to him in a way she hasn't felt in years. Charismatic and easy to talk to, Caleb is everything she's been craving: someone who listens, understands, and makes her feel truly seen. Their connection is electric, and Sophie starts to believe maybe, just maybe, she could finally have the love she's always dreamed of. But Caleb has a secret-a truth buried so deep it could shatter everything they've built. As their chemistry intensifies, the unspoken tension between them grows, until one day, Caleb is forced to come clean. The revelation is enough to crush Sophie's spirit, leaving her questioning everything she thought she knew about trust and her own worth. Heartbroken and betrayed, Sophie makes the difficult decision to walk away, vowing never to repeat the same mistakes. But as time passes, she unexpectedly finds herself drawn to someone new-someone who offers her a chance at a love unlike anything she's ever known. As Sophie opens her heart again, she discovers that love doesn't always come in the form you expect, and sometimes, the biggest surprises are the ones that heal you.

"You fit the bill just fine, Angel. I need a woman as strong as you." "I don't sell myself to anyone anymore, Mr. Stone. I don't pretend to love someone I don't and will never love." "Mr. Stone... I am not afraid of you. I will not yield to your demands no matter how you try to make my life miserable." Angel Mohr's college life has ended, and so is her short-lived romance with the university playboy. Now a little less starry-eyed and a lot more frustrated, she tries to make her way into the publishing world. She's the family breadwinner, after all. All goes relatively well until the company she's working for, McGarry Publishing, goes under... via suspicious circumstances. With Damien Etheridge out of the picture, Hunter Stone plays his cards and plays it superbly. The cold-hearted business magnate is hell bent on having Angel for a pretend wife and will stop at nothing to woo her-even if he has to resort to the most unconventional of ways. And god knows what the callous billionaire has up his sleeves. What was a one-time girlfriend for hire deal ends up to be a great deal of mess, and it's not looking so well for poor Angel. The contract has been drafted, and he wants her in. Jobless and desperate, Angel Mohr is put in the spotlight once more. Will she sign along the line? Will this little game of pretension turn into something more beautiful? And what about those random visions she has of Damien? Is she just imagining things?

"Every step you take away from me only drives you closer to the brink of my madness. You belong to me, Winter. Any alternative reality or illusion you hope for- I will destroy them until your very existence is entwined with mine." -𝐈𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐞 Eighteen-year-old Winter has always been a quiet shadow, a shy spy avoiding the perils of the spotlight. But when she's tasked with stalking five powerful Heirs, her carefully crafted invisibility shatters. Her mission is clear: erase their scandals, track their every move, and never draw attention. Yet, when she crosses paths with Ivan Arcane-the ruthless heir to one of the world's most powerful empires-everything changes. At first, Ivan saw her as dull and dependent, an insignificant watcher in the crowd. A beautiful doll to be kept locked and safe somewhere- an innocence belonging nowhere near him or his world. But when she makes one fatal mistake, he uncovers the sharp, wild mind she's concealed beneath fragile masks of pink and purples. Now, Ivan is obsessed, determined to dismantle her defenses and claim her as his own. And In a world where power rules, Winter is no longer the Hunter in the game -she's Ivan's fixation, a prey to a predator and he'll stop at nothing to change the very narrative of the fairy tale so the villain gets the girl in the end. AMBY AWARDS TOP PICK 2023 ❤️ "You think I can't act like I'm into you?" He asks in a whisper. He reaches out, and strokes a finger down my cheek, and I feel myself shiver at the touch. "You think I can't convince everyone that I have feelings for you?" His eyes are darker than ever, and any sign of a smile has now vanished. The only word I can think right now to describe him is "smouldering". I have searched many great romance novels (and even more sub-standard ones), and I am yet to find a better synonym for that particular word. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Abigail Watson has always played by the rules. She also constantly strives to be the best at everything she does. Practice Makes Perfect offers you some forced proximity, enemies to lovers, a dash of fake dating, pub quizzes, flatmate frustrations . . .
