Everybody hates Kenna Foster. Her teachers hate her, her classmates hate her, and even her own father hates her. The only people who really don't are her best friend, Emily, and her brother, Karl.
Suddenly, a mysterious boy appears to Kenna and tells her that her brother is dead. His name is Will, and he claimed that his brother, Samuel, killed Karl. But there's evidence to suggest his claim, and Kenna finds it all. And suddenly her life is flipped upside down.
Kenna doesn't know if her brother is dead or not. But what she does know is that whoever took her brother would pay. No matter the cost.
"In Stone Creek, we have a legend," I said. "There's an island in the middle of town, and every once in a while, this boy supposedly emerges from the island and explores our town. It's stupid, if you ask me."
Will cocked his head at me in curiosity. "It's true."
I glared at him. "No it's not. First of all, people have searched the island and found nothing. There's no way anyone could live there!"
Will nodded, and then smirked. "You're right."
"I am?"
"I don't live on the island. I live under it."
