Marlee Lee is a typical 17 year old. In her senior year of high school, popular, has heaps of friends, and to any outsider, she seems happy. But in reality, she is broken inside. Not only did she watch her twin brother and her best friend be dragged off and kidnapped, later said to be killed, ever since that night at the end of year 6 graduation, her best friends twin brother and her first love Jesse Reed has been ignoring her for the past 5 years and it hurts her so much that no one knows how broken and shattered she is, except the boy who is going through the same thing. Marlee, Jesse, and their twins Kai and Emerson were inseparable from the time they were born. Always going everywhere together, and their parents are childhood besties. It was just the 4 of them in their little group, but they were fine with that. One warm summers night when they had just celebrated graduating from primary to high school when suddenly 7 men jump out of nowhere and grab the four and drag them off. They screamed, shouted, and squirmed until the two men that were carrying Emerson and Kai knocked them unconscious. So Marlee and Jesse stayed quiet. Luckily, a lady heard the commotion and called the cops. The police came and only rescued Marlee and Jesse, whilst they watched Emerson and Kai be dragged off unconscious. The two screamed for their twins but they knew it was no hope. They were gone forever. 1 year later the search was still going when they found a note at the police station saying that Emerson and Kai were dead. So they cut the search off and pronounced them dead. Marlee and Jesse became distant and broken, no longer caring about the others existence, but when people from their past pop up 5 years after that night and force them to spend time with each other again, what will they do???

"𝔼𝕍𝔼ℝ𝕐 𝔽𝔸𝕄𝕀𝕃𝕐 ℍ𝔸𝕊 𝕊𝔼ℂℝ𝔼𝕋𝕊" - - - "My name is Hazel, but most people call me Ze. I'm from Melbourne, and love Taylor Swift." I cringe at my own words, and think back to a time where Fletcher was one of the only people calling me Ze. "Does anyone have questions for Miss. Bolivi?" Fletcher asks, and I hate the way my father's last name sounds on his lips. Lots of students raise their hands, and I feel overwhelmed. People actually want to learn something about me? "Yes, Miss. Abbott. Ask away," Fletcher says to one of the girls who is seated at a table at the front of the class, with other kids who all look bitchy like her. "Are you related to the Bolivi brothers?" Her disgustingly sweet voice pukes out. "My last name is Bailey," I say coldly, hating how that was her only query about me. - - - Hazel Bailey. She's your typical Australian teenage girl. From going out with friends every Friday night, to crushing on university boys. But what happens when this seemingly normal girl experiences the loss of her mother? Fearing that she's going to go into foster care, Hazel begins to stress, but she quickly discovers that she's not going to go into the system. But they're not the only ones with secrets. Join Hazel in a journey of lies, love, attachment, and humor.
