Victoria Gordon had always been told to keep to the shadows, to stay away from the window and to stay in her room, to take her pill every night, no later then 7. The rules a constant reminder that her condition rendered her body weak to the blinding rays of the sun that she adored so much. Victoria was raised beneath her father, a stoic Nobleman by the name of Xavier Gordon who had treated her kindly yet firmly, scolding her harshly only to apologize later. Her mother, however, passed away at birth, not even having seen her precious daughters' face. Or so Victoria had been told. Now nearing the age of 18, she longed for freedom outside her father's estate, she yearned for the heat of sunlight to bathe her, to taste the salt of the ocean and hear the bustling streets of London she had read so much about. But her dream of escape would be stripped away all too soon once the truth comes to light; about who she really is, where she came from and the secret behind her so called "affliction." In the end, she will need to decide for herself: will she live life as she had before? Or will the arrival of someone strangely familiar cause her to turn her back on the people closest to her heart?
