Hope. Despair. One cannot exist without the other. Hope is born from despair and despair creeps in when your hopes are crushed. You can't destroy them, only absorb and adapt to them. The Remnants of Despair. Inflicting despair across the globe was their goal before Future Foundation stopped them. I've never wanted anything to do with hope or despair. But embracing despair makes me able to receive his love. We were never meant to be, I knew that from the start. But I was deeply in love with him and I fell into that illusion. If I became Despair itself and conquered it, I would become Hope itself and he would truly, unconditionally love me like I loved him. I just wanted someone to love me. And I willing to go far enough to drown in his lies and become a Remnant of Despair.

Nagito Komaeda and Hajime Hinata had met, only when they were the young age of five. They were friends for about five years, Hinata was the only friend Komaeda was lucky enough to have back then. But Hinata had to move away once they were around eleven, leaving Komaeda and himself in a deep depression. Hajime accidentally forgets about the other, until they coincidentally meet at Hope's Peak. Hinata still doesn't quite remember the other, but, he feels as though the other is much too familiar, while Nagito remembers him clearly and tries to help Hajime remember. The 53rd class of Hopes Peak Academy find themselves is quite the situation, when the 77th class blows up part of the building. The world's biggest, most awful, most tragic event in human history started that day, due to that specific class. Well, that's what everyone thought at first. That was until Kokichi Ouma, the Ultimate Supreme Leader, reveals himself as a traitor, having lied about all his intentions. He had never cared about the others, but was merely acting. *Lying*. He was an Ultimate Despair, second to that of Junko Enoshima. But is that really the truth of the matter? A/N Hey, so I came up with this idea a long time ago, and I just decided to write it because I don't have much else to do. It's just a 'what if' scenario if Kokichi had been a Remnant of Despair, really. There might be some shippy stuff, I don't really know.
