Growing up for Jade Lee has been extremely difficult for her. She was sold to the Park family at age 5 to clear a massive debt from her parents. Instead of receiving a new home and a family who will love her, she is put to work as a servant for the family's only son, Daniel. Both of them would break their social status barriers and become unlikely of close friends. Daniel's kind and wonderful nature gave the care and nurture Jade needed to endure her new life. When Daniel had to leave the house to attend school overseas, Jade waited for Daniel's letters he promised to send to help her get through the days without him.
