Riley Matthews is a normal District 12 citizen in Panem, poor and starving. She is barely surviving with her family of a mom, and two sisters. Her and her best friend, Farkle Mingus hunt, that's really their only way to survive.

Lucas Friar is also a citizen of District 12, but he was rich, his family had their own bakery, his dad and brothers were nice to him but his mom wasn't, she abused him for not being a girl.

When they both go into the most horrid thing, the seventy-fourth annual Hunger Games, their perspectives change on each other.

for this story, Riley is sixteen, maya is her little sister and is twelve, and Ava is her youngest sister at the age of 9

for Lucas, he's 16, josh is younger brother and is 13, and auggie is his youngest brother at age 10

farkle and smackle are 17 and 18.
