I was so done with this town, I couldn't take it anymore. All the same people and all the same things, I would wake up, go to school, get home, do homework, go to bed and then repeat the next day. It got boring after a while so I decide to run for it, leave this old nasty ass town forever and well with my best friend of course she was as sick of the town as I was.
I gripped the steering wheel of the 1969 Boss 429 Mustang, the engine purred so perfectly as I drove down the highway away from the old town and to some where else. I don't know where but any where that's not here is better.

Me and my mom where happy. We where finally getting along and finally learned to live without my dad. He died doing what he does best. Being drunk. He got in a car crash from driving drunk. That was a year ago. But know my mom has fallen ill and no one knows what it is. She is dying every day and I don't think I can loose another person. So I decided to go to as many doctors as I can to figure out what it was. The corner of his mouth tilts upward slightly. I smile again. A smile!? A tiny one, but still. "Hm. So I got you to smile, that's progress, yeah? Can I get your name now?" One day when Laura is walking home from the High school bus stop, she notices something in the corner of her eye. A black truck with tinted windows just sitting on the corner with the head lights and engine running. She turns back around and starts to walk toward her house as the truck engine gets louder. Whether it was paranoia or not she couldn't tell. She doesn't turn around until she gets home then looks back and see's her fellow classmates walking to their houses like nothing is happening. A horse ranch. That's where I lived at least. I know, not very exciting to those of you who don't care for this life or think it's all about work. But let me tell you, you're actually quite wrong. It's a very exciting job and the best part is is that I get to work with one of my favorite animals every day. Horses. I know I wouldn't want to have any other life than this. One night though, everything changed. I had gotten lost somewhere in the woods in the middle of the mountains with my horse Storm. Usually I knew exactly where I was going and where I was but my horse had gotten spooked and raced far into the mountains. I tried slowing Storm down but he wouldn't.
