The pile seemed to be never ending. It had taken her a good hour to wash and dry just the pile of dishes in the sink and another half hour to put the dishes in the dishwasher away. When she was finally done, she hung her towel back where she had gotten it from and turned off her ipod. As soon as the music had been shut off she froze. Someone was in the house with her. She had been completely unaware of anyone entering the house due to her mind being overcome with the loud music. Not wanting to make any sudden movements Jayla took a deep breath and started to reach for the closest weapon she could find in just an arm's reach. She took another deep breath before quickly turning around and flinging the knife at the intruder.
