When Elizabeth, or better know as Elle, stumbled across a mysterious man in the middle of the forest she didn't expect what was to come.

Elle's mother died when she was very young. Her father remarried but disappeared soon after. Her stepmother quickly took the place as the head of the household and she, along with her cruel daughters, relentlessly worked Elle to exhaustion. The only thing that kept Elle from running away was Lucas. Her sweet, cheerful eight-year-old stepbrother who was also abused by his family. But when Lucas tragically disappears as well, Elle is willing to do almost anything for answers.
