Runt

This is a story about a boy named Runt. It takes place in 2086; an apocalyptic age. Most of the world has been struck by poverty, and things are taking a turn for the worst. Millions are homeless, and jobs are rare. The world's overlord, Overlord Zakey, is basically doing nothing but favoring the rich and ignoring the poor. Runt is a 11-year-old boy, part of the Sewer Gang. He lives in a city called Eastlea, which is basically run by two gangs of children; the Rooftop gang and the Sewer gang. The Rooftop gang is a group of children, all orphans, who live mainly on the rooftops of buildings. They are fearless of heights and are very agile, even able to jump short distances from roof-to-roof. The Sewer gang is a group of children, (all orphans), who live mainly in the city sewers. They love the damp and dark spaces of the sewers, and they have every single section of the sewers memorized. Usually the gangs avoid each other, but sometimes they clash when it comes to who-owns-what part of the city. But, one thing for sure is, it's not easy being a Runt.
