"He leaned in so close that for a second I thought he was going to kiss me. Then he pulled back and remained quiet for a little while, until he spoke in a low voice. "Marie, there's something I need to tell you." While average teenage girls have to deal with the stress of pop quizzes, cheating boyfriends, two hours' worth of homework, and choosing which Instagram picture makes them look the skinniest, Marie is far from a normal teenage girl. She has no idea what is happening to her as she tries to convince herself she's either going crazy or that these new abilities of super strength, sense, and controlling the elements are just unusual signs of puberty. Things start to get even more crazy when Adam Keller, an incredibly attractive new boy, tries to tell her she is the heir to the most powerful line of witches and that it's his job to train her to use her powers. Marie somehow finds herself in the middle of a love triangle and is forced to face conflicts that make her whole world shatter. What will Marie do when she confronts having powers, killing demons, and trying to avoid a boy that makes her heart flutter? Will she be able to walk away from everything she has ever known? I wrote this book when I was in middle school and high school. It was published my senior year of high school. You can buy it on amazon and barnesandnoble.com. I will be posting the prologue and first chapter to give you an idea of what it is about. This book is meant for middle schooler's and early high schooler's who enjoy paranormal romance, a strong witty heroin, and action.

My mother always told me when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When someone knocks you down, you get right back up. You fight the good fight until you have nothing left. You fight with honor, you protect the ones you love, and if you just happen to die in the process, than you do so with dignity and grace. What my mother neglected to tell me during my studies was that you don't always get what you want, the outcome you think is coming doesn't always happen, and when the smoke clears, you're always going to be the last one standing. By the end of The Certainty, Georgiana Vertigo is left with nothing more than her life, something many people would be more than happy to have. However, Georgiana is left to her own devices in a strange city, alone and heartbroken with regular intense bouts of depression. In starting a new life with the Guild, Georgiana has everything she needs in order to move on with her life and keep her mind off the past. Only problem is, the past is never truly forgotten and no matter how hard you try to shake them, the feelings that go along with the memories don't just fade away. ~ * ~ Alright, chickens. You asked for it (some of you at least) and here it is...well...part of it. Like I've told a few of you, this is a work in progress. I add pieces to it when I think of them. The posting on this story will NOT be regular but thankfully for you, I have quite a bit of it done. I just haven't decided if the path I take it down is the right one. So. I hope you enjoy it and I will give you a forewarning that as the story progresses, it gets a bit more adult. For those of us just joining the party because they stumbled across it in the Paranormal category, there is a whole series of books you have to read until you get to this one. Go start with The Beginning. You can find it under "My Works" on my home page.

Georgiana Vertigo has lost something important. The boy she loved has turned into a Vampire and left her reeling and dealing with the mess he left behind. She tried to cope with his betrayal but no matter what she does, nothing works. To everyone else, she looks like she hit rock bottom and is finally clawing her way out. But only one person knows the truth, only one person knows what's going on inside her head. That she's faking it to the people that love her most. After the failed Blood Trial in Vampire Domain, Gee is left with a stronger bond to Michael. But she won't do anything about it even though they both want to. Nothing is physically in their way but Gee waits in vain, sacrificing one love for another which she is sure never to get back. As time drags on, she is left with the choice of moving on like everyone else, or staying as she is, a ghost of the girl she once used to be, the true embodiment of a Forsaken.
