Will Rodman, leading scientist at Gen-Sys labs and a struggling son.
Diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, Will begins to become desperate to find a cure for his father's illness to keep him out of a care home.
Will also struggles with his role as a father. After the death of his wife Skylar, Will struggles to maintain the balance between his lab work and his duties as a father to 7 year old Ivy.
Much to Will's disadvantage, after an incident at Gen-Sys, Will is forced with the responsibility of adopting the newborn chimp of Bright Eyes, a tested ape which was put down.

["WILLIAM!" Came a shriek from her mother, and just as she turned toward the front, headlights was all she saw. Before tears could even spring to her eyes the car was rolling, unstoppable. Blair felt her head hit the ceiling, the window and then suddenly she was jerked forward and she slipped from her seatbelt and out the windscreen. Her screams left on deaf ears.] When Blair was only 8, her parents and herself were involved in a car accident-her mother dying in hospital. The force of the car sent her deaf and she was left to learn sign as well as cope with hearing aids. As her 10th birthday rolls around, her father takes her to work-as she seems to be the only person Bright Eyes would allow in her cage without acting out. Bright Eyes is one of the chimpanzees Will has been testing an Alzheimer's cure on. Blair was the only one to know of Bright Eyes' pregnancy, and was the one to convince her father to keep the baby chimp when Bright Eyes dies from an unfortunate event. [I do not own the ROTPOTA movie, nor it's characters. Only my own.]
