"Are you gonna be okay?" She glanced at me cautiously as if one wrong move would cause my world to come crashing down. 
    
    "I think so," I replied. I'd be better if I had my brothers to talk to, but they weren't answering their phones. They were off in California somewhere, and at this point I wasn't sure if they were dead or alive. I hoped for the latter. I already lost my pack and both of my parents, I didn't want to lose my brothers too. They were all I had left.
