If you're a Divergent fan and were mentally scarred by the ending of Allegiant, then this is the book for you! This ending questions what would've happened if Tris wasn't killed, if she survived. The story begins at chapter 50, when Tris risks everything by going into Weapons Lab to save the city.
This ending helped put my mind at rest and I hope it does for those unsatisfied and heartbroken by the original ending! (I still absolutely loved the book and the series though, and I have a huge amount of respect for Veronica Roth!)

She kills David before he can kill her and releases the serum. Soon after, she moves into the city with Tobias and some of the other refugees. They find out that they will be expecting but the plan for a family is cut short when they are kidnapped, brought to The Milwaukee Experiment, and are wiped of their memories. Tris' memory is spared due to her divergence but no one knows. She will have to escape the city with the ones she loves in order to create a lasting future for her and her child. So here is my idea of how it should have ended: Tris prior survived the weapons lab and tobias saved her. What will they do now? Will they live in peace now that the factions have been reinstated? What happens when a new group called the defiant start preparing fOr a war? The friends and family they thought dead start showing up alive. How? Who else is alive? What happens when a little bit of family shows up in tobias' life. What happens when a girl shows up tris never thought she would meet? Can they really trust the defiant?
