If you're a Divergent fan and were mentally scarred by the ending of Allegiant, then this is the book for you! This ending questions what would've happened if Tris wasn't killed, if she survived. The story begins at chapter 50, when Tris risks everything by going into Weapons Lab to save the city.
This ending helped put my mind at rest and I hope it does for those unsatisfied and heartbroken by the original ending! (I still absolutely loved the book and the series though, and I have a huge amount of respect for Veronica Roth!)

This story is a different ending to Allegiant. In this story, Tris never got shot and all the people who died aren't dead. Al is still dead though because I don't like him. Tris and Tobias have a perfect life. They have a healthy relationship and they train initiates together. Their life can't get better! But can it get worse? Moving Forward (Prequel to Starting Over)
After Allegiant Everyone thinks Tris is dead, but that's because that's what she wants them to think. In reality she had to take drastic chances to save the people she loved, even if it means getting hurt in the process. You know what they say, desperate times call for desperate measures. With Tris gone Tobias feels like he's falling apart, especially when they go back to Chicago and the factions are put back into place. Everyone keeps telling him it'll be alright, but with Tris gone how can it be? He feels broken and has to do the only thing he knows how to do: put up walls. If nobody can get in nobody can hurt him again. This is the prequel to Starting Over so if you read it first you won't miss anything but there may be a few spoilers. This is how I think Allegiant should have ended. They deserved a life. And family. They went through too much. So here is my idea of how it should have ended: Tris prior survived the weapons lab and tobias saved her. What will they do now? Will they live in peace now that the factions have been reinstated? What happens when a new group called the defiant start preparing fOr a war? The friends and family they thought dead start showing up alive. How? Who else is alive? What happens when a little bit of family shows up in tobias' life. What happens when a girl shows up tris never thought she would meet? Can they really trust the defiant? What will tris and Tobias do now that they also have a family to look after. Can they ever really be safe? All rights to Veronica Roth.
