when 16 year old rachel barbra berry moves from new york to lima ohio she is in for a total culture shock. while in new york she was the princess of her drama driven school and everybody's sweetheart who seemed to be going places with her drive for broadway stardom. however when her faathers inform her thqt they are moving back to leroy's home town for work rachel is upset her dreams moht be dampened. but what she never excepted was to find love but then she would have to find him again. two days after thwy move to lima ohio the school she is to attend william mckinley high is hosting a charity ball which ohio hosts every year but they take turns as to which high school hosts it. this year its mckinley though the attendes are from all the local schools such as carmel high and dalton acadamy and crawdford all girls school. the ball is a masked ball in order to stop rivals from other schools kicking off with one another. however rachel goes to the ball and has a great time so much so at the end of the night she kisses a guy its an amazing kiss but then the fire alarm goes off its a false aladm but in the panic of thr crowd they get seperated and she doesnt find out his name. so as she starts school at mckinley she searches for her masked crush sill she find and more importantly who is he.
