Running from the things that broke them, two children ran into the Forest of Secrets, not knowing that they would find. Can these two children make it out alive? Will their hearts ever heal from the pain they've had to endure? And can they rise above their past while making their future brighter?

"You want to run, when you know that there's something here that is trying to control forest? You know we should help the wild stay just that, wild!" I say, trying to make him understand that we need to stay here and help protect the forests secrets. The enemy can't find out, it would destroy the forest that I now thought of as home.
"What can we do we're just two kids in way over our heads! We cant do ANYTHING!" He replies, anguish in his voice. I could see it in his eyes that he truly wanted to help but he was too afraid to try, he didn't want to break any further, he didn't want me to break (again).

"I bandaged everything the best I could. It will need stitches. However, I'm afraid that it is broken. Same as your leg. Broken and needs stitches. How's your head feeling? I haven't been able to get that sucker to stop bleeding." His voice sliced through the air. I stare at him, confused, looking around, wanting to be anywhere but here. He clears his throat once again. "Mate, did you hear me?" "How is your head feeling?" I close my eyes. What the fuck? What the fuck? I was angry, annoyed, and frightened. What, mate? What cruel world would make me mate with a wolf? No, no, no... My arm and leg were throbbing intensely. My head was screaming. I brought my fingers up to my head to try and rub the pain away. I needed to leave. Now. I told myself. My mind is still groggy, unable to swiftly move my body like I need to. I didn't even notice I was crying until his voice rang through my ears once again. His footsteps quickly, walking across the hardwood floor. The first book in the series Not very good lol 😆 Completed, still needs editing though let me know what you think!Complete

'"What are you doing here?!" I scolded. "What are you doing here?!" Hunter said. "You didn't answer my question!" I said to him. He looked at me and I knew what was coming next. He suddenly turned from furious to comforting. "What's is this place?" He whispered and opened his arms. I examined him cautiously before breaking and running into his arms. I cried against his strong build. He stroked my hair and whispered repetitively, "Its ok. I'm here now. Don't worry. I'm all yours."' Everyone has to start somewhere. My life started without a dad. People change their minds and people make mistakes. My mom did just that when she left me at four years old with my Great Aunt Lorie. I know where my mom lives, but I wish I didn't. Don't get me wrong, I still love her to death, but sometimes...forgiveness...is hard to give out...to everyone. 'I jumped over the river that I had never crossed before. I heard my mom calling my name behind me, but I ignored her. Tears streamed down my face. Now, on the other side of the river, I was in a forest, jumping over logs and fallen tree trunks, pushing leaves out of my face. I stopped when I finally felt fully isolated. I sat down on a small rock and cried and cried and cried. I guess this is where I will stay for now. I guess these are just my woods for now. Just my woods for now.'Complete

I pulled away from him, " You've been here longer than I am. How can I be sure that your not here to deceive me also? " I asked coldly. The banging starts again but this time a lot louder. I can hear the girls screaming up stairs. I pick up my phone and dial 911. "Hello this is 911 what's your emergency?" "There are a bunch of wolves outside my house. I think they have rabies or something I'm not sure." The banging gets louder and I can feel my face getting wet from the tears. "Mamm did you say wolves are there?" "Yes Yes there are wolves about 10 of them out here in my front yard. I need help!" I hang up the phone and sit on the end of the stair case. I close my eyes and start praying. Something I haven't done in a while. "I have faith, there is a god. I have faith, there is a god, I have faith, there is a god." I repeat over and over. The glass breaks and I start screaming. I stand up and try to scramble up the stairs. The door comes falling down and there are about 10 wolves standing in front of my door. A woman emerges and walks toward me. She snaps her fingers and the pretty brown wolf is in front of me. Right there by my face. "Ridanna you know what to do." Her teeth is wrapped around my neck and she sinks them in. I try to scream but it's hard to. At first it hurts but now the pain no longer exists. I feel like there is no such thing as pain and I feel light as if I can float off the Earth. Fine as hell white boy with a pro-black activist fall for each other. Cherise Miss Activist doesn't want to date Zaire the fine as hell white boy not for his race but for his secrets. What if he had a past he didn't tell you about and the only way you found out is because the past came to kill you? And I'm not talking werewolves and vampires. Cherise would only wish for problems for they would be so simple compared to hers and Zaire's. If any woman found out Zaire's secrets they'd take off running to the nearest police station or they end up in a body bag in the end. Depends....which will come first?Complete

"Who's out there?" One of the men yelled. Of course only silence met them. I remained quiet and waited for the group to start moving again. "Maybe it was just an animal." Someone whispered. The person, who I assumed was the captain of the small squad, signaled for them to walk again. They clearly showed fear as they kept going; brandishing their weapons to guard themselves with. "Two are holding lanterns. I'll tell you when you're too close to them." I heard my friend whisper in my ear. I followed the men as I picked up another branch and waited for the right time to break it. They continued to walk through the forest, turning their heads in every direction as if an animal might lunge at them and rip their throats out. I guess in a way I was going to do that. "Go back a few feet." My friend whispered. I carefully distanced myself from the group and waited. "Where is she?" I quickly snapped the stick as soon as he finished asking the question. They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind. At nine years old, Silver decided to leave her village for the forest. Since then, she's been hunted; everyday is a fight for her life, every breath she takes could be her last, but she's determined to stay alive. Her life isn't the kind anyone would want to live but she's managed to survive this long so, what's a few more years?Complete
