The small fishing town of Queen's Port has always been home for Rowan. But finished high school, and unsure what she wants in life, Rowan is finding the quiet, uneventful lifestyle boring. Everett was a promising baseball player until injury put an end to his career. Without a backup plan he finds himself working on his uncle's fishing boat while he figures out a plan B for his life. Two people who couldn't be more different both facing disapproval, uncertainty, and doubt. Will they find a direction for their lives, or be lulled into the state of contentment that seems to characterize the residents of Queen's Port?

As he slowly begins to learn the ins and outs of what it means to be a parent, he begins to reconnect with Sloane Montgomery, a local woman from his past. Both dealing with grief and their new familial responsibilities, the pair quickly find comfort in one another; there's only one problem - Ryan isn't sticking around once the summer ends. The brewing chemistry between them, however, didn't seem to get the memo.
