"And now we honour our fiftieth anniversary. As a reminder that two rebels died for each Capitol citizen, every district will be required to send twice as many tributes."

Melia Cressview. Ember Cressview. Bailey Birling. Haymitch Abernathy. All from District 12. All from the Seam. All in the Hunger Games.
They all see it as a death sentence. Who wouldn't? Being forced, along with forty-four other boys and girls, to fight to the death in a horrific live television event.
They each have their own qualities that could help or harm their chances of survival in the arena. But what they all have in common is a steely determination that will see them through the Games as far as they can get.
They won't give up. They won't be picked on. They're strong, and they'll do everything in their power to survive, no matter the odds.

[ONGOING] 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐊 𝐎𝐃𝐀𝐈𝐑 𝐗 𝐎𝐂 "Novalie, or, Nova Blackthorn. Won her games at fifteen. One of the only female victors from district four. Don't let her innocent appearance fool you. She's brutal, ruthless. I'm talkin' like, major league crazy. She can kill a person just by stomping on their head, I've seen it." "I never wanted to be a pawn of the Capitol. I just wanted to go home." "When you're in that arena, you're not thinkin' about gentle ways to kill other tributes. All you know is almost everyone is out to get ya', and you gotta get them before they get you." "The first time I saw you two at the tribute parade, I thought the whole romance thing was an act. But when that fog started rolling in, and you didn't care about anything but her, not even yourself... I knew I'd been wrong. You love her. And anybody paying attention can tell." "Yeah... she's the other half of my soul. When we're apart, it feels like I'm missing something fundamental. Being in her presence is as essential as breathing." "Yes. I do love him. More than I have ever loved anything. He treated me like I was somebody. Not a victor, or a Capitol favorite. A real person." 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐫, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐲. Every year they are dragged out to the Capitol to mentor tributes who die within the next week. It was now the 75th Hunger Games and the tributes were being chosen from the existing pools of victors. And when Annie was chosen to go back into the arena, Sidney had to volunteer for her.

In a Panem that followed a history different from what we know. In such a world, tributes are pulled from the same pool, and so in addition to being reaped, sometimes you just know you don't have a chance; two boys from District 2 would plow through the rest, and all you can do is cry. ---------------------------------------------------------- She lived in 12 for generations of her family but not in the filth, nor was she in a family of victors. No. She was the child of peacekeepers, she was trained to fight, special schools for them, and even her name only being once in the reaping bowl as she grew no matter what she did. People like her would be 12's future peacekeepers, raised and trained on site for generations of their families to be sure they know all there is to know about the district they'll keep in check. ---------------------------------------------------------- She grew up in 12, in the poorest part of 12. She'd hunt for her family with her friend and would exchange some wild game with the on and off boyfriend she had, son of the baker. Her life was hard. And so she watched with envy those kids that got fed for nothing, taught to handle themselves so that in the future they could control them. ------------------------------------------------------- How will life turn out if two of these people get to meet under different lights, in the 74th arena of the Hunger Games?
