[ THE MIDNIGHT CLUB 2022] CELESTE PARK was admitted into Brightcliffe Hospice just because she was crazy. That's what the other kids in her neighborhood used to say. Her doctor said it was Schizophrenia. A brain disorder as all the adults had agreed on. For Celeste, she'd believed it was neither yet she had no choice but to oblige. Because no one would believe her if she'd said there were shadowed people walking down the hallway of her home through the gap of her doorway in the dark. If she'd said there was a small kid whose mouth sealed tight, standing in the corner of her bedroom holding a china doll. If she'd said she'd been hearing voices in the dead of night that not even her parents or any of her friends could. Celeste grew up in a family loved by many, and that automatically made her popular at her own school. She was a healthy normal girl since kindergarten, leading up to her highschool year; Junior. Where it all went downhill that led to a car accident, all thanks to her seeing a bent neck lady at the backseat of her car. There's nothing more than a popular girl gone crazy. Because of Park's reputation, to save it, her parents sent her to the Hospice randomly in hopes for her to recover. But months have passed, instead of getting better, she became worse. She was secluded from the rest of her friends, she wasn't allowed to leave the building unless she had an escort. Her parents had given up on her and had stopped visiting her on family day. Celeste lost all hope. That was until Ilonka came.

So when she ends up being a he, what does Hayden do? During the wait to switch place, she grows quite attached to the care, kindness, humor, simplicity and courage the five boys show her. So what happens when the paralyzing book of her nightmares once more opens and is read out loud for not only her, but now, also those five boys? Easy. She tries running away again. But... She underestimates the love that those boys have towards her, because they're willing to do everything and anything, except letting her go. Except letting her remain broken. ╰┈➤ ❝ [I stood there in unequivocal revelation, the lagging pain slowly catching up with me, but before I could release a fraction of the pain into my screaming, a bell rang, and suddenly, pilfered from my body was the ability to move. My face neutral and my muscles disabled as I fell face-first into the hard, scathing rock that lay unmoved before me.] 》* 。 • ˚ ˚ ˛ * 。° 。 • ˚《 Imagine awakening in an environment you deemed unfamiliar, your back thrumming in pain, with your mind staying clear of how you ended up there or simply the moments that lead to your position. You try to find a way out and later realize that you can't even remember who you are; your memories purged, your identity unknown. It takes you a good amount of time, pain, and effort, and eventually you manage to gather tiny fragments of who you were along with the trauma of how you retrieved it, but it's okay, maybe it's all worth it as you finally make contact with another person. Turns out she was your best friend. Finally, it looks like all is turning up until you learn of all the inhumane things you've done in your past, things that evade your newfound morals, things that were so detrimental to society that when you hear the reason as to why you've been enduring such agony, you understand why. How many people did you even end up hurting? What did you do that was so bad, that it made millions wish the absolute worst of you? What will you do now?

⚠️THIS STORY IS OLD. IT ISN'T VERY GOOD. THE OTHER BOOK IS BETTER⚠️ Adeline was a good kid. She worked hard, took care of herself, and didn't let anybody push her around. At least that's what the kids at school thought. But, like most people, she had secrets. Things nobody knew about her. Nobody knew her mother and stepfather hated her. Nobody knew she lived alone with her best friend. Nobody knew that, outside of school, she was a totally different person. Nobody knew what she had been through, and all the things that left her shattered. This is how she lived her life. This is the only life she had ever known. But what would happen if all of that changed? Could one school lecture, a mishap at the courthouse, and a DNA test change her life forever? For the better or for the worst, Adeline's life is about to change. And for once in her life, she might not have to keep so many secrets. ********************************* Started: 6/18/2022 Finished: 7/29/2022 © 2022 Taylor Sassone Cover by my awesome sister @owlhootsburger13
