"-There is a potential in you that not many have, and I can make you much more. More than the loud, angry child that fights without his head.' He levels me with unnervingly calm eyes and nears me even more. 'Your revenge has come to an end, your family, friends, anything tying you to this life. I can change that. All you need to do is follow me and forget this... All of it.'"

They know them as assassins, guns for hire, mercenaries... That's all they know.
Pay them quickly. It never happened.
Riley had been consumed by a revenge so thick that he no longer knew the person he'd become.
His parents were murdered when he was a teenager, but he made those responsible pay very dearly.

A single letter. That's all they know about her.
K.

She has absolutely no concern whether she lives or dies which is exactly why she got their attention. Riley may just collide with someone who is equally as detached from the world as him.
But no where near as crazy...

Guns, revenge and buildings to bomb, what could go wrong? ✮ He came in, gun held out in front of him in one hand while the other was resting on his hip where a sharp dagger gleamed in the light. "Come on out little girl, why not make this easier for both of us. The agency you ran away from just want to have a little talk, that's all." She scoffed internally. Yeah right. Then the footsteps ceased. She peeked to the right, then to the left. Neither direction showed any sign of the intruder. She looked up in front of her and gasped, the glint of steel and smell of death as overwhelming as it was adrenaline inducing, exciting. "Boo." ✮ Murder, accidents, assassinations. Call it what you will, it's all the same, all has the same life breaking, mind shattering consequences - be it for the victim or the bystander. It had shaped Alex in a way no one should be. Broken down and rebuilt into the perfect soldier, one who had the power to change the world, to fight battles that would either make or break the carefully constructed vision we all live in. The only small, minute, really unimportant detail - it's pretty hard to get into a government classified site when you're 15 years old and have a rag-tag team of double-crossing back-stabbers behind you. Not to mention the threat of a world war and ghost hanging above your head. Armed with sarcasm, wit, and a hell of a lot of aggressive intentions, it won't be too long till a sticky situation is all that's ahead of you. Sometimes, running head-first into a situation isn't the best idea. Instead, you gotta play a game. A deadly game where either you have all the pieces on the board, or you have nothing. ✎ "I could've killed you that night and I didn't. I had my gun to your head ready to drain the life from you, but I didn't." His eyes averted mine, and I saw an opening in them, something I wouldn't even have considered looking for if I was still overcome by anger. "Why didn't you?" I asked, watching him as he began to play with his sleeve cuffs in a way that I knew was unique to him. "Because I know what it's like to fight for something you love. Killing you would have just made me no different than another monster who lost themselves in the fight." He continued, "And I saw something in you I haven't seen in myself in a while- fire." ✎ Two unlikely allies ─ a fiery, hot-headed spy and a slick, calculating conman ─ are forced to team up to track down a dangerous criminal and uncover why sensitive information is being leaked. But as their pursuit pulls them deeper into a web of betrayal and deception, they discover that the whistleblower is just the beginning. Hidden in the shadows lies a not-so-human world-and with it, a truth neither of them is prepared to face. Along the way, their undeniable (yet endlessly denied) attraction threatens to ignite, even as the world around them begins to unravel.
