Jed Henderson is a Southern boy with little to no aspiration. He’s fine with working on his family’s farm from the day of his birth to the day he finally meets his maker, and he knows that that will most likely be the way his life’s story plays out. Even when Jed discovers his incredible talent for acrobatics, he doesn‘t sway from his mindset. He knows better than anyone else the life he was destined to live, and doesn’t expect anything more.

In contrast, Katia Betina has always been unsatisfied with her life. Ever since her family moved from Russia to America, Katia has felt out of place. She doesn't eat well, has refused to learn English, and is failing her classes in school. Now that she’s fifteen, things are looking even darker -- Katia’s family has lost their wealth, and the only thing Katia lives for -- the ballet lessons she has been taking since the age of two -- might be no more.

But when a man -- a beautiful, mysterious, ferocious man -- gives each a ticket to Dealen and Metzker’s Fantastical Street Circus and a promise of wonderful things to come, the temptation for both is just too much to resist.

And thus begin’s the fabulous life of The Tiger Prince and The Tigress. A life that is wonderful, but too good to be true. As Jed and Katia delve deeper into their strange new lives, they also uncover the secrets of their circus and ringmaster that should've been left untouched, and are catapulted into a mystery that only they can figure out.

That is, if they can survive long enough to solve it.

Matt was a track star like his brother, but everything changed following his Junior year of high school. His girlfriend Kris along with one of her friends were killed in a head on car accident involving a drunk driver. Even though Matt was in the car with them he somehow survived. After the accident nothing seems the same for Matt, and despite finishing out his senior year, his motivation to move forward is gone. Desperately in search of something new, Matt turns to a martial arts school that his best friend had recommended. Set in the beautiful beach town of Oceanside this first person narrative focuses on key experiences that Matt goes through during his first year of training. The novel takes the reader on a journey following him as he struggles with the demands of karate training, as he deals with new relationships surrounding him, and most importantly as he learns to live with the memories of the accident that while becoming more clear, still haunt and hold him back. The variety of people he meets as part of his training, some more eccentric than others, push him to try and answer the call; including the "beautiful" brown belt Cammie, who helps him try and fully face the memories of the accident. The idea is to showcase the world of hard core martial arts and integrate it into the challenges of overcoming serious trauma. It highlights how the power of being a part of a community in the fascinating world of martial arts can be surprising, challenging, yet transformative. With the advent of a series like "Cobra Kai" I believe there is interest in coming of age narratives that are set within the sometimes bizarre and mysterious world of martial arts. I personally love John Green's work and hopefully there is at least a taste of what he offers in terms of intensity and depth of character. The following "tags" I think would fit well in trying to describe the narrative : coming of age, drama, tragedy, karate, kata, fighting, romance, and recovery.

Elio Nott is perhaps one of the most well-known bachelors in the Wizarding World. He's dashing, charming, and never serious. Which is why when Elio turns twenty-three with no signs of settling down, his parents decide to force him into the world of pureblood balls and matchmaking, much to his chagrin. The only perks are the *many* elegant females and, perhaps, the spiked punch. Elio hates it all. Until he goes to the stupid Malfoy Masquerade Ball only to find the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. But before he can even get her name, she disappears. Annalise Riddle is quiet, slow to trust, and prefers the company of her piano to one of her peers any day. As the daughter of the Dark Lord, she is constantly in danger so Annie spends her days shyly hidden away for fear of being harmed by one of his many enemies. So she isn't expecting to go to a ball and meet a stunning boy with grey eyes and a charming grin that takes away all of her defenses. Panicking, Annie leaves and vows to never see him again. Until he shows up another night to search for her. A Game of Cat and Mouse tells of a woman afraid of love and a man so determined to have her that he will stop at nothing. This book contains instant attraction, billionaire-esque playboy MMC, a sprinkle of dark romance, cinderella retelling, brother's rival, "he falls first AND harder", forced proximity, and lots of male pining. This is a spinoff of the Slytherin Boys series. It is recommended that you read my books Smoke & Stars and Darkness & Devotion for an idea of the character's parents and their backstories, though it is not required. This story does NOT take place at Hogwarts! . . . "There isn't a single word on this Earth that can describe how radiant you are. I am certain that a vision of you inspired the heavens, that one glimpse of you would make God realize why he created man. You are a divine angel and I am but a humble man begging on his knees for a taste of you."
