Noelle's mind is constantly bombarded with vivid vignettes from not only her subconscious, but others as well. Through excruciating pain she is given an ability which allows her to view the memories of others in an out of body experience. As if the pain she endures isn't enough, the universe gave her an Unreasonable step-father, and an unstable mother who seemed to have disappeared from the face of the earth. In spite of the dark gloomy surroundings that want to crumble her very existence she manages to trigger a relationship with her boyfriend, and the return of her long lost friend Adam. When the government gets involved to remove people with an ability like hers from the face of the earth she is suddenly thrust into an adventurous turmoil in which she learns more about her past, the reappearance of her guy friend, and most importantly her new "curse".
